What is Wire In The Blood?

Wire In The Blood is a television series based on a series of novels written by the acclaimed crime fiction writer Val McDermid. The first two episodes, “Mermaids Singing” and “Justice Painted Blind” are direct adaptations of these novels, where the rest of the series is simply based on McDermid’s characters. Costal do have the rights to the latest Wire in the Blood novel, “The Last Temptation”, and there is talk of this being adapted in the next series. The series is the first independent commission to be completely produced by Costal Productions. Filming takes place in many locations about London. The series had its world premier in Denmark and has been sold to:

  • ABC TV (Australia)
  • TVNZ (New Zealand)
  • TV2 (Norway)
  • RTE (Ireland)
  • M-Net (South Africa)

    What exactly is this site for?

    I love making websites. I love Wire In The Blood. So for two months I used my afternoons to research and compile this guide to episodes and characters for my own enjoyment, and for the reference of other fans.

    Is there going to be a Third Series?

    Yes there is...

    That’s right- Costal Productions is now in the process of making a third series. Alan Whiting and Patric Harbinson have been commissioned to write the scripts.
