~~~~~Two Lives, One Heart~~~~
Chapter Three
Dan loved the song that Elisha had chosen and knew just how he wanted them to dance it.
"Okay, Elisha, over here and Jeff...you stand there." Dan directed them around the room.
The music boomed and the two dancers moved to the opening notes of the music. Jeff had some trouble, so they re-started the song. After muffing the steps several times, Dan pulled him aside.
"Elisha, just stay warmed up will you, while we work through this?"
She nodded, changed the CD over to the radio and started to dance.
Nick watched from the side of the room.
"Isn't she great, Bri? She can really move!"
Brian yawned and nodded. "Wha..., yeah, she's great, are you ready to go?"
Nick shook his head. "No, I want to see what they come up with for the song."
Brian watched Elisha across the room and turned to study Nick's face.
"Do you think she's pretty?"
Nick blushed. "No! Well, I mean, I just...."
Brian nodded. "Uh huh, whatever Nick!"
Elisha tried to keep turned away from Nick and Brian. She was never nervous about performing in front of people, but she didn't want them to think she was performing just for them.
"Routine." She said to herself, breathing deep. "Routine."
"Okay, I think he has it now." Dan called out to her.
They went through the steps again and then she had a mistake. And again and again.
"Okay!" she hollered out, forgetting all about their guests. "If I have to listen to him sing "sexuality" one more time, I'm gonna need a cold shower!"
Jeff laughed. "Oh yeah, well how about thinking about his outfit, leather wasn't it?"
Elisha hid her head in her hands. "That helps!" she said sarcastically.
"Or the pole, didn't you tell me he was gyrating around on a pole, in leather?"
She blushed and screamed. "I'm leaving, if you keep it up!" Then she smiled. "Now that I have some nice mental images in my head, let's get to work!"
Nick giggled at her outburst. He liked that she didn't worry about making them feel uncomfortable by dancing to their song. Most people would rush to change it to something else. She was funny and honest, and even though he denied it to Brian, he was finding her very attractive.
"Hey, Nick! Are you in there?"
Brian was tapping him on the forehead. He had been watching Elisha so intently he had never noticed.
"I'm gonna head out now, this is too much for me! What time did, ahem, Willa, want you back?"
"Oh crap, at five! What time is it?"
"This should answer your question." Brian said gesturing to the door.
"I'm out of here!" Nick stood up to follow Brian out, only to bump into Mandy. "Hey Mandy, I was just on my way up."
Mandy looked him up and down. "Playing basketball, huh?" She looked over to the dancers. "Which one were you shooting hoops with?" Mandy punched him in the arm.
"Mandy, we were just watching, they were...."
"I don't care!" she yelled. "I told you to be back for my rehearsal and now I'm late! Let's go!" She spun him around and shoved him out the door.
