Aeria Games is a game publisher that produces and promotes Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games. These games are available for free with in game purchasing. Some of the offered items require users to purchase Aeria points with real money.

GOG

GOG (Good Old Games) is an online game store, based in Europe, which offers games that are Digital Rights Management (DRM) free. Most of the games they offer are older games that have been updated so they can run on some of the newer operating systems.

Origin

Origin is a game store owned and operated by Electronic Arts, also known as EA Games. EA Games is one of the premier publishing companies that produces sports games such as racing, football, soccer and baseball. However, they also produce other types of games, like the Sims.

Pogo

Pogo, now owned by EA Games, offers a large selection of games that can be played through the web browser. Many of the games require users to pay an annual membership fee before users can access them. Some games are available for download as well. Users can also purchase Gems, the online currency for the site, so they may buy additional game challenges or dress up their avatars. The games available are card games, board games, puzzle games and gambling. Their games are not compatible with all web browsers and are not playable on mobile platforms such as smart phones and tablets.

Steam

Steam is a game store owned and operated by the Valve corporation. They are perhaps one of the first companies to offer such a service where gamers can purchase game online or register game keys. The games are not DRM-free; however, once you own a game, you may download and install it as many times as you like. Steam is available for Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. They do not support mobile platforms but do have an app that allows users to interact with their account and make purchases.
