New Lenox Band

2004-2005 Beginner Band

The New Lenox Beginner Band is made up of Fifth graders in District 122. Most students start the year with little or no experience on their instrument but soon have the ability to play concert music. The band gives three formal performances a year. Band Members focus on fundamentals like air support, tonguing, simple rhythms and melodies.

To all beginning band members: Great job during band camp! We are really proud of how hard you worked and can't wait to see you at our first rehearsal! Remember - our first rehearsal is Tuesday, September 7 at Liberty for all woodwinds (flutes, oboes, clarinets, and alto saxes) and at Martino for all brass and percussion (trumpets, French Horns, trombones, baritones, tubas, and percussion). We will begin prompty at 7:00 a.m. Please bring your instrument, music book, and pencil.

Fundraiser Information

The first fundraiser of the 2004-2005 school year will kick off at the mandatory band parent meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 7. All band members will be selling Pampered Chef products. If you were not able to attend the meeting, the information will be distributed to the students during their band class. Please help support the New Lenox Band Program by selling this quality product!

The recording will be updated every Friday with Morning Band and Sectional Schedules, Practice information, Assignments, Reminders, and other information for students and parents. Please make us of this service! Homework hotline messages will begin after Labor Day.
