"GRRR...weapon? Make weapon, what you want?"

"What, me on fire? Oh."

"Hey me forget. Me not skilled much in ways of new weapons. Only got old ones now. Me learn better later."

Weapons I Have Made

(Unfortunately, the majority of my weapons as well as everything I ever made

in amtgard are now in Florida, while I reside in Illinois, so no actual pictures, sorry folks.)

Projectile Weapons

Not that never playing a character class that could actually use projectiles would stop me.

Quite possibly the MOST ilegal weapon I have made, these were also the best flying projectile weapons I have made. My very first weapons (aww) I made. They flew perfectly and for long distances right into player's eyes. I gave them up fairly quickly. Hey, we were a new shire who at that time never saw what real amtgard was like. I called them scythes, but I've never seen them shaped quite so. For weapon nuts they are sorta like kusairgamas without the chain. Umm, don't make these. I don't think they could ever be safe.
Sigh, the old hockey pucks of death. Throwing stars in amtgard have a certain lack of threat to them. They fly well, if you can get the right wrist action going. Made a couple for kicks one day, and are cheap to make cause they use up so little of that valuable foam, I made mine from scraps.

Chain Weapons

Again, as if I could use them...but I caught the bug. They all started out the proper length of chain, 18 inches. But I used socks to create the chain, and they get mangled and pulled out of shape fairly easily.

A nunchaku I made for my monarch on a whim one day, to see if I could. It looks a little too much like two bottles on a chain for my tastes. Not really that useful on that field, in the days when the longer your weapon the more of threat you were on the field. But you looked really cool if you could do the whole "I'm a dork with numbchucks who can manage to not hit myself a dozen times every second" thing. I'm not one of those people. The chain length was only a hand's width so it never got pulled out of shape. It was also heavily taped. We were very big into tape, not that big into covers. Most of our stuff was illegal those days.
I think this started off as a dare. I called it the insanity axe. It was a shield, a double-headed axe, a spear and a chain weapon all in one. It was insane. Don't make this. I think we were getting all competitive over what to make, and it was like "I bet I could make a shield, sword, mace, and throwing star all in one!" Don't ever get like that, you only spawn mutant weapons like this one. On one hand though, you get really crazy ones like the un-cored throwing sword. No, I never pulled that off, but believe me, I wanted to.
I made a couple of these, one was all red cause that was all I had for tape. Not really anything of note, except they got the heck pulled out of them. Also the local Wizard guildmaster and I thought the red one, which had black balls would make an excellent sphere of annihilation weapon, with each ball cast.

Swords and Daggers

Ahh, now the daggers I could use!

I made this as a part of a set, my final sword. I've made quite a few, but this was the only one I ever really liked. I made a double set of dueling swords I called the "Skull Brothers", for the skulls on the pommel and the jawbone hand guards. I had another that had cool red and black stripes winding up the blade, and a fully legal covered "Shadowlighting" sword with a decal lighting bolt on the blade that was made with bamboo. Before it even made it to the field I showed it to everybody, and intened it as a present for someone, and asked them to break it. After the fifth person tried really hard he did. Oh well, back the drawing board. But this was my favorite, and it had a matching set of daggers too. Handles wrapped in leather, it had a slightly asian flair to it. If was still in active in amtgard to this day I would use it.
I love daggers. They don't cost anything to magic users. These were the matching ones to my sword.

I made a lot more useless crap in the time I've been in amtgard. A shield with my heraldry painted on it, a handful more swords, arrows that in retrospect weren't as safe as I thought them to be, a staff I used for quite a while, more mutants than I care to admit, but none are really all that cool.
