'Gairloch: the geography of the area'
which should be studied for an overall picture of the geography of this part of the Northwest Highlands.

This and the following two photographs were taken from the air in 1990.
A number of new buildings in the middle distance, including Gairloch High School and Gairloch Health Centre, built in 1994, change this scene markedly. Gairloch Sands Hotel, extending off the lower edge of the photograph, burned down in 1999.
