Alternative Fuel Stove Test
This series of tests was designed to find out the feasibility of using a Sterno stove with fuels other than sterno. The intention is  to prove functionality with both Trioxane fuel tabs and squaw wood. In order to use the stove with these fuels, 3 tin cans were  modified into burners.

The first test will be for the Trioxane fuel tab and will use all three cans for the burner assembly. The Trioxane needs to be  within 2" of the bottom of the cooking pot.
The standard Sterno stove ready to start the first test. All equipment and the water are cold for the start of each test.
The three cans: left one is a peach can cut off and 4 holes punched near the bottom. The top of the can was placed in the  bottom and held in place with the punched in metal from the holes. This gives a double bottom for durability. This can forms a  heat shield for the trioxane burner and is the wood burner when used alone.

The middle can is a tuna can, no modifications necessary. It is a backup trioxane burner, but mainly serves as a spacer to hold  up the right can. This one is a large soup can. It is cut off, punched and also has the double bottom.
Here the stove is opened for view, showing the nested tin cans.
