Tutorial #2:

In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create something like the image below, using NetStudio's ability to fill an object with a texture like the marble I've used here, and layering one image behind another. Again, you'll have to use an image map in order to designate the hot spots for the links contained within the image. Even if you have no intention of creating such an image and doing an image map, you may want to follow along anyway, just to see a couple of the cooler things you can do with NetStudio.

Before we get very far, however, I'm going to suggest you surf over to another web site, bookmark that site, then come back here. The site is called Absolute Background Textures Archive. It calls itself the largest collection of free background textures on the internet, and I believe them. In addition to backgrounds for web pages, you'll find textures like paper, wood, brick, and marble. I found so many I liked that I created a separate folder on my hard drive and downloaded a bunch. Now, when I'm playing with NetStudio I'll experiment by plugging in different textures on an object. For example, here's a copy of the image above, using rocks and wood to fill the objects. I also added a little more shadow to the bottom layer.

If you purchase the full version of NetStudio, you'll also get tons of stuff on the CD including clip art, textures, and more stock photography than most people can ever use. The ability to fill objects with images this easily in NetStudio opens up unlimited potential for what you can create. Okay, click the NEXT button below to see how it's done.
