       Insomnia is a four piece rock band from Sveti Nikole, Macedonia. Although we find that hard and heavy and rock music has seemingly been fading out in the past couple of years friom the world scene, and is gradually being overthrown by electronic sounds, the members of the band remain enthusiastic about exploring new ways of conveying the energy expressed via rock.

The members of Insomnia are:
       - Aleksandar Efremov - lead vocals, bass guitar;
       - Aleksandar Popovski - drums, percussion, backing vocals;
       - Dejan Dimitrov - lead and rhythm guitar, backing vocals;
       - Ilija Tasev - lead and rhythm guitar, lead and backing vocals;
       - Igor Doncov - Deutsch - special guest star and producer. Greetings from Macedonia Igor. Waiting for you this summer.
       - Aleksandar Popovski - drums, percussion, backing vocals
       - Igor Stefanovski - drums, percussion, backing vocals (Currently working and living in the USA)

05 August 2005 - Another great day in the private lives of the Insomniacs. Insomnia has been joined by Alex Popovski's healthy baby boy. Gorjan was born on Ilija's birthday, 28 July 2005, therefore there are many smiling faces all round. The mother and baby are doing fine and are now enjoying the atmosphere at home and the support of the proud father.
As far as music news is concerned, there's nothing new to report. Some headway in the status quo of the band is expected after September when Alex Efremov should graduate and concentrate more on the creative side of things.
14 December 2004 - As reported on the Insomnia Forum recently. the studio of Insomnia's special guest star and resident producer was robbed and stripped every piece of equipment apart from some cables and a 20 year old monitor. This unfortunately means that Trinity Recordings Studio has ceased to exist. If you have any info or want to help in any way please contact the administrator of this site or the people in Trinity Recordings.
13 September 2004 - Insomnia just expanded with the addition with Ilija Tasev newly born daughter Jovana. Pictures of baby Jovana can be found on Insomnia's buzzling Forum.

24 June 2004 - As you can see our Webmaster has included a search engine to this site, so no more clicking on various pages to find out what you were looking for. You may also have noticed a future download link. As July nears, the band is getting all the more prepared for their planned recording session so be on the lookout for any developments here. In other news, Aleksandar Popovski and Ilija Tasev, along with his brother and former members of the Undertakers, went to the Metallica concert in Belgrade on June 15th. This was certainly an exceptional moment for all.
19 April 2004 - Long time no update. Well nothing new this time yet again, just small rumours or talks about impending recording of at least a couple of songs this coming summer. If all goes according to plan, Insomnia should record an EP. The members are busy writing and selecting songs for the upcoming Sleepless Summer project. We hope to have mp3 clips to entice your curiosity by August. Cheers to all.
11 Novemner 2003 - It appears that Insomnia is in hiatus for the third straight year. There have been some low-key discussions and activities into re-activating the band, yet the results are pending. In any case I had to update the site so as to let you all know, we are still keeping in touch with the times. It's only a matter of time now. :)
24 April 2003 - Just a small update to let you all know that Aleksandar Efremov has completed his military duty and is now a free man. This of course gives him more time work on a joint project that has been rumoured together with Ilija Tasev. There are a number of plausable avenues they could explore in the coming months. Details are vague at the moment and there will be no further comments until something concrete transpires. Both have not heard from Dejan in more than half a year. In the meanwhile, Aleksandar Popovski is recovering well after a minor operation. We wish him a fast and speedy recovery so that he can bang those drrruuuummms. :))))) Get well Alex.

11 November 2002 - A tad late but happy marriage to Ilija Tasev. Yes the rumours are true Ilija did marry the love of his wife Marija, although it was over 1 month ago on 29 September 2002. Good luck to both. Now, that he has settled down Ilija has vowed to be more productive musically. Where have we haerd that one before?
07 August 2002 - Insomnia is proud to announce their newest member who will fill the spot of Igor Stefanovski- Kotle. He is no stranger to the members of Insomnia nor their musical inclinations as he has been also a member of the anthalogic heavy metal group Moron. His name is, if you haven't already guessed, is Aleksandar Popovski. Read more in the news section.
31 July 2002 - Aleksandar Efremov - Korub, the co-founder of Insomnia, has been subscripted by the Macedonian Army to carry out his compulsary military duty of 9 months. Yet another drawback for Insomnia

28 March 2002 - A redisign of the site is in the works. We are hoping that Isomnia Site v2.0 will be a lot more intuitive for use and easier on the eyes. As a first step we have added an Archives page which will contain the older news and the site updates that are getting all the more common by now.
26 March 2002 - Happy birthday Korub. Aleksandar Efremov had a birthday party and guess who peroformed... Ilija joined Aleksandar in an acoustic guitar rendition of their favourite songs, well only a couple of songs of course.
28 November 2001 - Not that it is any new news but Igor Doncov - Deutsch has been working over at Trinity Recordings back in Aachen, Germany. It would be a cool place to record. I wish:)) We've added the link in the links and influences section. Check it out, puleeze.

5 October 2001- Since there is no news, its time to take some history lessons. The Moron years is all but completed. The reason for the slow pace of this site is because extensice research is involved. Oh and did you notice the nice colour change of the letters. We hope it is a bit easier to read now.
7 July 2001 Just letting you know that we have not given up yet. We are working hard as a trio. The war has not effected us as yet, neither will it effect our work. As far as learnibng lessons from the war, we are quite sure that some pointers will be incorporated into some of our work. Stay tuned, thank you for still believing in us.
21 April 2000 - The birth of a site. A site is born about the Macedonian band Insomnia. Only the basic idea was intitiated.
