Getting to RatFest
RatFest will be held at Cathy's house in Gales Ferry, CT. If you would like to arrange to travel with with other RatFesters, check out the Roster page to see who is attending RatFest from your area!
The closest train, bus, and ferry stations are located in New London, CT which is about 10 miles away. If you are considering coming to RatFest by public transportation, post to the NERatLovers Yahoo Group.
Taxi service is available from all local hotels (for more info on local places to stay, see the Hotels page). If you are staying at the Olympic Best Western in Groton, we may be able to arrange transportation from the hotel to RatFest, but we need to know ahead of time in order to arrange any pick up times.
BY CAR
If you plan on coming by car and need directions, please contact Cathy directly. Look on the Roster page and post on the NERatLovers Yahoo Group to find possible carpools!
BY TRAIN
If you are considering coming to RatFest by train, post to the NERatLovers Yahoo Group to arrange a taxi car pool. Additionally, there might be other RatFesters taking the same train!
METRO NORTH (website)
In the past Metro North has offered a very affordable trip package from Grand Central to Mohegan Sun Casino (which is close to Cathy's house). Check the MTA web site for more information.
Post to the NERatLovers Yahoo Group if you are interested in this option because a group of people from NYC may take this up together.
AMTRACK (www.amtrack.com)
Amtrak stops in New London, CT and offers AAA discounts.
BY BUS
If you are considering coming to RatFest by bus, post to the NERatLovers Yahoo Group to arrange a taxi car pool. Additionally, there might be other RatFesters taking the same bus!
CHINATOWN BUSES
Buses that run out of Boston and NY Chinatowns offer very affordable bus rides to Mohegan Sun Casinos. Mohegan Sun is about 15 minutes away from Cathy's house.
GREYHOUND (www.greyhound.com)
There is a Greyhound bus terminal in New London, CT which is about 10 miles from Gales Ferry. Most trips from major cities do not have any transfers.
BY FERRY
The Cross Sound Ferry goes from Long Island (Orient Point, NY) to New London, CT. You can find information on rates at the ferry's website: www.longislandferry.com
