2002 Recap
Saturday - July 19
The RatFesters started arriving at Cathy's house around noon, greeted by a mouse balloon and June's "RAT MBLE" car :) Jessica initiated the introductions and the first North East US RatFest was off to an exciting start!

Our first activity was the Ratasaurus Egg Hunt - a fun game whose eggs hold messages such as picking a prize or a free raffle ticket, as well as constructing a Ratku (Melissa's favorite!) or doing an impression (Like Jessica's Alpha rat).

Our next activity was the gift exchange - Yankee Trader style! There were great ratty gifts and much stealing.

There was also some great merchandice to buy, including Chris' beautiful watercolors and Kim's Ark's display of great items to benefit the rescue. NE RatFest had a raffle and auction of some great stuff including a very cute rat stuffed animal and a Nimbus scented hammock!!

The rest of the afternoon and early evening was spent chatting and exchanging rat stories and advice.

Until... a rousing game of Rationary - the Dumbos versus the Go-Nads! The heated battle featured some interesting words... temperature regulation??!! In the end the game went to the Dumbos in a 1 point victory.

Rationary was followed by a secret closing ceremony plannned by Cathy. The breathtaking ceremony involved fireworks, sparklers, noisemakers, flags and music! A perfect end to an awesome day :)

Sunday- July 20
Those RatFesters who returned for Sunday's festivities met at 11 a.m. to eat a yummy brunch at IHOP.

Afterwards we came back to Cathy's house for a fun rat craft - decorating rat ornaments! Everyone made vrey creative and unique ornaments to commemorate our first RatFest!

Unfortunately as the afternoon went on everyone had to start heading home. However, the North East US' first RatFest was definately a success!

Contact Cathy for more information.
