Nepal has variety in the climate. The various climates are found here. In another word, this country can be said that the whole world’s climate is available. However, the climate has dual effect in the economy of Nepal. (1) Positive effect: The positive effect of the variety of climate is that the foreign tourists come here to feel the difference. Most of the tourists like alpine climate in Himalayas where there is mountain ranges are available. In the alpine climate, the tourists come more so that tourism is very good which means the help in the economy of the nation. Even in this region, the mountains lies which are covered by snow which is the sources of the continuous river that is useful for hydro-electricity and even for irrigation. The region also provides various products like meat, woolen products of yak and sheep which is famous all over the world. In the mid part of the country there is hilly region which has moderate temperature which is suitable for existence. This region has beautiful lakes and valleys which are famous even in the foreign countries. In lower part of the country, the plain lies which have very hot temperature and climate which is very useful to cultivate. (2) Negative effect But the productive lands are not available in this region due to steep mountains and low temperature. Most of the lands are covered by the rocky mountains and snow. Due to moderate temperature in hilly region, the urbanization has taken places randomly. Unmanaged settlement can be seen easily everywhere. This has effected the government policies for economic development. Due to hot climate in the plains of Nepal, the people are unable to stay and live peacefully. So most of them transfer to the moderate temperature which adversely effects the budget plan of the country. |
