Something like an CV why SWATCH is only on the second range.
1986 I bought my first Swatch: it was the model
“Pinstripe GA 102” – in the Museum of Daimler-Benz. She had the imprint on the
wristband “100 Jahre Automobil: Daimler-Benz 1886 – 1986”. I wore this model L… (but had in 2000 the big luck to
get the same version unworn very cheap !). Only 1989 followed the second
Swatch: “Tickertape GB 713”. Until now I prefer the classical style. The
Tickertape went a bit crazy while I joined the German army (but who is not
crazy when joining the army !), a helmet “touched” the watch. Since around 2
years I wear on the left hand the Pinstripe and on the right hand a “Classic
Two GB 709” (collection 1987). This model I bought on a flea market.
My first “real” Special was the “Mozart GZ 114”. This I got – believe it or not – direct from SMH Germany. Cheeky asked “I saw a very nice model of your collection in the ‘Intercity-Magazin’, is it possible to buy this ?” A few days later ‘Trans-O-Flex’ came, collected DM 260,- but I got 2 x “Mozart”. I only had to pay for C.O.D. extra, but what is this in relation. After 10 years I think I can speak about this story, at that time I was asked to tell no one my source. Today it is really impossible to get Specials direct from Swatch.
Beat by Beat: I was one of the first members of
“Swatch – Collectors of Swatch” (today easy “Swatch – The Club”), but still
waiting to receive the Golden membership (whoever read this from the
Club-Organizers first – as an exception ! – I would like to do namedropping for
myself !). Find here my application for 2002 – unfortunately without success.
In the meantime I collected around 160
Swatches, also Highlights like the Chronometer “Turbine GK 125” (limitation
1000 pieces), or – as one of my last big invests: the silver special of “Rio
Douro Cor de Prata GZ 165” in the Special-packaging (limited to only 249 pieces). My absolutely
favourite special is the “Automatic-Man” (Who knows the limitation ? – Please tell me
!), also the “Production Set” is very nice. I got this item finally
Silvester 2001/2002 while joining the “Swatch

How many voyages I did because of Swatch: Hamburg, Düsseldorf, (Auction, not Swatch-Action), Cologne (more than one time), Würzburg, Nuremberg, Augsburg, Munich (also more than once), Garmisch. Europe: Austria, Spain, Portugal and, for sure, Switzerland. Is this all ? I have to check it when time will allow. Unfortunately I’m not able to join all Events (for example: France: Launch: Skin-Chrono), but when I went to an Event it was every time very good. Only missing travelling overseas. New York was actual when writing the first part of the story, but everything has (financial) borders. While this “Wristory-Auction” run I was only in Zurich. And had to be aware that my hands didn’t twitched ! Here you find my Photos from Zurich.
