Swatch invited there members to "Wristory" an auction held by Sothebys in N.Y. to support "God's love we deliver". It was also possible to join the auction via satellite in Zuerich, Berlin and Milano.
I went to Zuerich because it is much nearer than any other place, so i rent a car and drove after work direct to Switzerland. Arrived there we all met in a Restaurant called "Movie" - decorated with a lot of technical film equipment and also a lot of signed posters from some famous movies. We all joined the dinner very well and very soon it was time to walk to the Swatch Store Zuerich which is really nearby.
Everyone got a special ACCESS-Swatch with the number SKK103WR "Invitation to Wristory" limited to 1.500 pieces worldwide only. (I will also insert a photo as soon i have the possibility again to upload). Intigrated in the box of the Swatch is a tablet which is asigned to show if you want to bid. Unfortunately only one Lot - Nr. 15 Gold + Platinum Prototype - were won by a member in Zuerich. He had to pay 50.000 USD.
Also everyone got a nice cataloge which show all lots and includes also describtions. Famous Swatches were sold: a complete set of the "PUFFS", "ROTOR", the "Olympic Medals" just to name a few. One special lot i was interested to see: a "James Bond" collection will come in 2002 and this watches together with a trip to London and the Pinewood Studios was also placed. - They did not show all of them :-( But, you see: this lot had a Minimum bid of 8.000 USD. Not payable for me and i'm not sure how much someone paid for this lot which also include as a special gag a day to join Bond's Aston Martin.
Not a chair from a James Bond Movie, but a chair which looks a bit like IKEA style was a gift given to all participates.
For the charity the result was 400.000 USD, doubled by Swatch (complete 800.000 USD).
It is crazy to drive more than 550 kilometers for 6 hours Swatch Event, but this is the crazyness of Swatch ! We all enjoyed it and we're looking and waitin' for the next event.
