Current News on Sandra
Ok, so this box is just a tinker toy. But it's fun!
I currently (as of 10-02-2003) have RedHat 6.0 (yes 6.0)
running it...it reminds somewhat of win95 in terms of speed
meaning it's not too shabby...
I really have the urge to wipe this thing clean and put
debian (my fav distro) back on it...but we'll see if i have time

Network connection
This baby has never seen a high-speed connection, just dial-up.
It does have an ethernet pci card (rtl-8139) but I haven't
gotten it to work yet...and even if i did, i only have
dial-up right now cause i live out in the middle of nowhere.
What was my goal?
This is a toy to play with and perhaps educate me about linux.
Partitioning
The drive in there is small, but used for dual-boot win95 / debian.
I have other hard drives I've tried to install myself, but I can't
get them to work, so I don't know if they're dead or if I'm just
a newbie. :-)

Kernel & Graphics & X
The kernel is 2.2.20.
The vid card is an s3 trio 32.
Must used 'xserver-s3', not 'xserver-xfree86'
I've gotten X to work.
Audio
This will be the last of my concerns, but it doesn't work right now.
CD-Rom
Hey atleast this works!
Modem
Telecommander 2500XL. I've gotten it to work on dialup internet.
I use ppp. Good news, it's an isa modem, not a winmodem.
Power management
If I want to power down, I have to press the power button! Ahhhhh!!!!
Funny tidbit
I have to unscrew 7 screws in order to get the case off!
