i attended my first fdl lug (Fond du Lac, Wisconsin area linux users group) meeting
this evening. it's a very interesting group with great ambitions and
i look forward to being a part of it.

also, this evening, 'yoda', one of the group members, loaned
me his 7 debian 3.0 cd's so that i could restore sandra back
to the way she meant to be (running linux)

by the end of the evening i had debian up and running
(it was actually dual-boot with win95)
but once again it was only running off the boot floppy
and don't worry, i made a backup this time!
