Sadly, while trying to update my linux kernel and recompile, I damaged my debian boot floppy, and of course because I'm a newbie and couldn't figure things out, my pc only booted off the boot floppy. It then figures that I didn't have a backup boot floppy (another newbie mistake). I did have a recovery disk, but I couldn't figure out how to make a boot floppy from the 'ash' shell, so I finally gave up and restored the beast to factory settings (win95) and I'm going to start all over again. All I need to do is get a Debian CD from one of my friends (since I'm working on dial-up) and there's no chance on me waiting to download anything.
