BOB AND CAMILLE ARMANTROUT AT HOME ON MAUI
Updated through February 19, 2002
BLUE COLLAR MAN
Bob straddles a stack of cardboard in the Flat Bed. This was taken on the north shore by Shaun on a typically beautiful day.
WHALE DAY
This man is shading the little solar panel to hear the radio stop playing while Shaun and Camille wait for interested passers by to come into our Eco Nazi lair on February 16.
WEDNESDAY DRIVE
Ulupalakua is one of our favorite places on Maui. We had business on this side early Wednesday morning so Bob took me for a drive to show me where he has been picking up recycling. He has taken over Rhad's route in the Flat Bed truck and has to drive to beautiful remote spots like this. All we need is someone to rent us an acre up here and we'll be pitching a Yurt.
A YURT - Inexpensive, Portable and Pretty
For $10,000 we could have a 700 square foot home like this. We are currently paying $12,000 a year in rent. If we paid half that to rent an acre, we could pay off a nice little Yurt in less than two years. The best thing about Yurts is that they are portable. You can take them down and pack them into a truck! This Yurt has just been put up about a mile above us on Pi'iholo Road.
THE PIT OF DESPAIR
We've taken on this project for Carole and Bob Crist in Pukalani. They call it their "Pit of Despair."
After less than three hours with our machetes and a shovel, Carole, Bob and Camille made some good headway in the pit on February 12th. We'll be back on the 19th for some more fun. Bob Crist has cleared this hillside of weeds several times but they always come back. On this day, the soil was so moist from all the rain we've had that we soon threw down our blades and began simply tearing out the weeds by their roots. The place where Bob and Carole stand will soon become a garden.

CHRISTMAS PUZZLE
This kept us busy for a month. We started it on January 10th and finished it on February 9th. The photo was taken by world famous horse photographer, Robert Vavra.
MORE ADVENTURES
I was lucky enough to go horse shopping at Adventures on Horseback with Cynthia and Desiree on February 4th. Here are those ducks I mentioned in January. Diana, the ranch manager, holds Mr. Dee with the ocean in the background. Cynthia may be moving him to her barn to use as a school horse.
