THE OFFICIAL SNYABLES.com SOAPIN' GRIND LIST of doom.

Okay welcome to the SNYABLES.com Soapin Trick Tips page.  For those of you who do not know what soaping is, we will now tell you.  Soaping is freestyle walking.  You wear grind shoes and grind on stuff.  you should probly go out and buy yourself a pair right now.  In case you want to idolize either of us, Trevor (ADLFIII) wears Squeaky Cleans and nate (of the DOGGS) wears Scabs.  trevor (ADLFIII) uses BBK plates, nate (of the DOGGS) uses Slow Bros.  Oh yeah we’re also trying to find the Official SNYABLES.com Digital Camera so we can put some pics of these grinds up for ya.  But until then, you’ll just have to use the description.  If you happen to come across a new grind, e-mail it to us and we’ll put it up.

Everyone has a foot that is easier to grind with when it leads.  If you grind with your “bad” foot forward, you get to add “switch” to the beginning of your grind.  trevor (ADLFIII)’s lead foot is his right foor, nate (of the DOGGS)’s lead foot is his left.  For those of you that want to idolize us.

For legal reasons, we have to have this up, so here goes. SNYABLES.com is not responsible for any injury, death, or property damage caused by freestyle walking.  OK. Now you can read the trick tips.

FRONTSIDE: the most basic grind.  You jump up to the rail (or ledge or whatever) facing it.  Both your grindplates should be flat on the grinding surface.  You can add “frontside” to the beginning of any other type of grind that you land facing the object (i.e., frontside UFO) if you really want to, but usually its implied.

BACKSIDE: like the frontside, only you jump up to the object and face away from it.  When you land any grind facing away from the object, you get to add “backside” to the beginning of that grind (i.e., backside fastslide).

UFO: when you grind, grind on the inside edges of your grindplates.

COWBOY: like the UFO, but a lot harder.  You grind on the outside edges of your grindplates. Very hard trick.

Royale: in this grind, you grind with the inside edge of your front foot and the outside edge of your back foot.

Fahrvergnuegen: its basically a reversed royale. You grind on the outside edge of your front foot and the inside edge of your back foot.

Backslide: Grind on your back foot only, holding your front foot up.

Fastslide: Reversed backslide—grind on your front foot, hold your back foot.

Cheese Grater: you can really only do this one on rails.  Land on the rail with both feet close together, toes pointed out in opposite directions.  You need to be pretty flexible to pull this one off.

Unity: land with your ankles crossed and grind on the inside edge of both your grindplates. Very hard.

There are many more grinds out there, we just haven’t written them all down yet.  remember that freestyle walking is not limited to grinds; if you can pull a backflip or one of those fancy run-up-a-wall-and-flip-off-it (we call it a Jackie Chan backflip), that is still freestyle walking.
