Magazine and Book Illustration
One of two rainforest paintings (this one was stolen while on exhibit) • National Geographic, January 83
Paperback • 1980

The easiest way to get your hands on some nice color work by Barron is to head to your local library and dig through the old National Geographics. The rain forest paintings in the January 83 issue are especially amazing.

Also, almost everybody has seen Barron's Lord of the Flies cover, you just may not have know it was him. Click on the LOTF image for some cool pictures provided by Niem Tran.

National Geographic, October 86 • Soviets in Space

National Geographic, May 85 • Worlds Within the Atom

National Geographic, June 83 • Once and Future Universe

National Geographic, January 83 • Nature's Dwindling Treasures

National Geographic, August 79 • Mysteries of Bird Migration

Barron's black and white work is just as amazing as his color work. Below are some of the books that barron has illustrated (most with black and white illustrations). As I said before this is by no means a complete list but these books illustrated by Barron are definitely worth seeking out. Also, look for Society of Illustrators Annuals from the late 70's through the 80's, Barron is all over them.
