Spirit

a candle, luminous
flickers in the darkness
jumps and leaps
such bravado
swallowed in a whisper of smoke.

a flame, burning bright
heat and light
brilliant blazing
fierce and challenging -
consumed into ashes left in the cold.

sunrise, forever new
growing, swelling,
heat drenched daylight
receding, dimming,
the endless cycle that succumbs to night.

but the light of a spirit -
warmth of a friend
burning of passion
blaze of love -
imprinted on the soul,
the memory glows
even after darkness falls.

Dreams

As a moth to the leaping candle
We are touched in slumber.
Kissed by the lattice of luminous chaos
That shimmers, unseen,
Against the dark starlight.

Whispers...
A masked dance, ancient and immortal,
Somber grace and gliding silhouettes -

Sighs...
The breath of fragrance, dim and warm,
Dusky rose and silver rain -

Wails...
Taste the sea of heaven, empty and pale,
Bitter gleam and cool ocean breeze -

Imagine -
The invisible brush of lost wings;
A lover's caress across sleeping lips
As we plummet,
Lost and alone,
Amidst the billowing fragments of dreams.

Moonlit Wind

Billowing moonlight sweeps through slumber
Butterfly light amidst drifting midnight emptiness
These touches cry with brooding solitary whispers

    Mad beneath a winter moon,
I felt a shadow whisper of beauty -

Faint, rippling,
An ancient wind
Wild and gliding,
Forever

The Dance

When happ'ly the elegance of night
Gives rise to the beauty of mystery -
And upon each tiny drop of dew
Dance the light of countless stars -
Then does the heart arise,
To turn amongst the heavens fair.
And as all things sweep beneath our feet,
An endless waltz in perfect time,
The night itself shall bow her head
Before the fire of love sublime.
