Surprisingly, the circle did keep their word and accepted my invitation. They were girded for battle and all ready to join their friends, but Mayfair was merely a distraction. A much larger battle brews elsewhere...
10.11.07 - Reunion - I never thought I'd see one of their number willingly accept the Shadow. These new ghosts are powerful indeed. Not only did one willingly adopt our banner, but the efforts of his companions were enough to turn him away from Her cause in a matter of moments. Remarkable!
I've taught them much about the Wasteland and the world as it was, but the vast majority of knowledge that must be gained is of a more hands on variety. Her hunger feeds Her impatience, I feel that time will come within a matter of days.
10.4.07 - A Favor for a Friend - The circle managed to snatch another soldier shadow-eaten soul from Grandmother's embrace. I'm sure their spirits are lifted accordingly. If only Tom had come to me, I would certainly have turned over his daughter. For a small fee. Currency is the lubrication necessary for any good business arrangement after all.
With each pass, I can feel the Stormwall weakening. Grandmother continues shoving her bloated fingers across the Shroud, picking clean the ghostly bones of this world. These 'spooks' must help us before it is too late, but you'd be amazed how difficult it is to explain the air to these fish. Maybe the wall will soon weaken enough for us to provide our 'friends' a helpful shove.
9.25.07 - Mr. Jigsaw and the Hellboys - I have set up amiable terms with the circle you requested. Certain... prejudices aside, they seem willing to cooperate. I sent them to fetch a couple of Her spawn and, as I expected, they succeeded. Though I was much more curious to see their reactions to the Hellboys, and vice versa of course. It appears both circles will be able to coexist peacefully and should prove useful to your cause.
The Spectres retrieved from two of Grandmother's hives proved deliciously enlightening. I now have a firmer grasp on Her movements within the city.
9.20.07 - The Siege of Lazarus Redux - Remarkable! You were absolutely correct. These new wraiths are just the weapon we need to combat the uncouth neverborn frothing at Her every command. These new dead have discovered a way to literally combine their arcanoi for truly devastating effects!
I'm currently in the process of negotiating a working relationship with the strongest circle in the city. I've asked them for a trivial favor and in return I'll give them the key to creating Orphan-Grinders. Surely this boon will provide the glue for all dealings to come. We may defeat the Bitch after all!
9.13.07 - Prey Without a Prayer - Other matters delayed me a bit longer than I wanted. I was hoping to catch Sean's circle before their pursuers arrived, but they were already knee deep in brood. I decided I could learn more by watching them work instead of interfering so I sat back for the duration. Even after one of their own was infected by a Lawgiver, they still escaped without permanent harm. It was incredible!
Sean is filling out his Orphan-Grinder coat remarkably well. I should introduce him to Clem, I'm sure he'd appreciate that. I think I'll head over to Lazarux Redux and see if I can't lend a hand...
9.6.07 - Sweep and Harvest - It's too bad Grace was "rescued" so quickly, it would've been much easier to cement her loyalty to our cause if she'd been allowed to join our ranks. I suppose that will always be an option.
I will be paying a visit to the Holy Rosary soon. I think the time is long past that I properly introduce myself to circle that defeated Bishop, Malevoy, and so many others. I'm sure good times will be had by all.
8.31.07 - Swarm Storm - It begins. Her retarded children ravage the Shadowlands. Even commanded by the Fallen, the all consuming hunger makes them blind... and stupid. It's sickening.
Is this a vision of the world as Grandmother would have it? Is hunger Her only motivation? Where's the structure? Where's the hierarchy? Where's the strength of purpose? Where's the order?
I waited for the circle I had previously invited, but they didn't show. I did however have a fascinating chat with one Terrence Green. Green's obtained some celebrity on this side of the Shroud and was quite well informed. Perhaps allies will not be hard to come by after all.
