The
logic underlying a chemical-based, high-yielding agricultural system, which
claims to protect the environment and feed the worlds’ population, needs to be
examined. The claims and counter claims deserve minute examination.
A
review of contemporary research, which predicts practicability of Ancient and
Traditional Wisdom for sustainable agriculture (crop & livestock production)
is needed. Such research should demonstrate the efficacy of this knowledge base
and dispel all ambiguity.
Profitability
of the Organic Farming system and traditional livestock-care practices vis-à-vis
conventional methods of production needs to be highlighted.
Natural food is defined as food produced “with organic or sustainable farming methods, minimally processed and free of artificial ingredients, preservatives and chemicals”.
