About etiquette, behaviour and rules

  Rules for Combat

Well, this is easy told...
Get yourself a revised edition (doesn't matter which ST-System) and take a look at the chapter about drama and close combat. There you'll find all the informations you need to know: About rolling Initiative (DEX + WIT + 1D10), Splitting Dicepools, Attacking (DEX + BRA or DEX+MEL), Defending (DEX +DOD or DEX +MEL), Doing Damage (STR + ?) and Soaking Damage (STA) etc.
>>>But there are exeption to the revised rules at the Ten-Do Dojo!
1) Only stun, non lethal damage is allowed!
2) Don't use any special (supernatural) powers!
<<<
>>>
And of course the Dojo is no place to fire a gun or to use some archery.<<<

Dojo Etiquette

Also very simple...
It's all about Respect. Respect the dojo, the instructor, your partner and yourself.
This doesn't mean you have to bow all the time someone is crossing your way. But when you enter the dojo you have to calm down. You have to leave some of your daily troubles and problems at the door. Practice hard and you will leave the dojo physical exhausted but mental refreshed.
And a last short note: Whatever an instructor is telling you, try to read between her or his lines. All the knowlege lies in your own personality. A good instructor is just helping you to bring it to the surface.

Ten-do Dojo Prestige (TdDP)

You havent pay for TdDP with XPs but with actions. Your level of TdDP wont be listed at your character description "sanctioned equipment" but there will be a database at the egroup.

"Actions" could be:
- Cleaning (0,5 points),
- teaching (0,5 per student),
- doing the paperwork (1 point),
- guarding (1 point),
- defending the dojo when it's attacked (2 points),
- 1/2 year at the dojo (1 point),
- harming a student (-1 point),
- violating the dojo rules (-2 points),
-
etc.

What are the points for?

1. Example:
Probation as long as the instructor has a rating of 0 (this means you have to get one student or hang around for over 1/2 year to become an accepted instructor),

2. Example:
Instructor#1 got 3 students (3x0.5 points) so the level is 1.5 and instructor#2 got 2 students but is teaching at the dojo for more than 1/2 year (2x0.5+1 points) so the rating is 2. Instructor#2 (and may be her or his students as well) are more famous than instructor#1 (and her/his students),

3. Example:
A guard whos working for the dojo for over 1/2 year, who does some cleaning now or then and who defended the dojo once has a rating of 4.5 (=1+0.5+2 points). So the guard is more famous than any instructors above.

4. Example:
A new instructor with 4 students who used supernatural powers (whats not allowed) to impress the students has a rating 0 (=4x0.5-2 points), if she or he would hurt one of the students the rating would drop to -1 (=4x0.5-2-1 points). A rating below zero means this new instructor will get fired.

What should this be good for?

- for roleplaying
- for probation,
- for dismissal,
- to increase status and establish characters
- and at least maybe for payment.
