TREKKING:
Panch Kedar Trek:
Panch Kedar's are five different forms
of Hindu God Shiva and known as
Kedarnath (3584 mts.), Madmaheswar (3289 mts.), Tungnath (3810 mts.).
Rudranath (2286 mts.), Kalpnath (2134 mts.). The view from each temple
is fascinating and valley full of rich flora and fauna. Local people
are quite hospitable.

Kedarnath-
Vasuki Tal Trek:
This is a continuous ascent and gives excellent view of Chaukhamba
peak. The final trek of 1 km. is downhill. |

Dodital
Trek:
Situated at an alt. of 3024 mts., Dodital is surrounded by dense oak,
pine, Deodar trees. The crystal clear lake is full of rare fish and
Himalayan Golden Trouts. The trek starts from Uttarkashi and goes
through Sangam Chatti and Aguada.

Valley of
Flowers:
At an altitude ranging from 3000 to 4000 mts., the Valley is nearly 10
kms. in
length and 2 kms. in width. When in full bloom the whole valley glows
with colourful flowers.
The trek starts from Govind-ghat (19 kms.)
and at Ghangaria the trek bifurcates to Valley of Flowers (5 kms.) and
Hemkund Saheb (4 kms.)

Harki
Doon:
At an alt. of 3586 mts., it is surrounded by dense forests and
spectacular peaks (i.e.-Swargrohini peak). En-route there are forests
of chestnuts, walnuts, willows and Chinars, terraced fields, lush green
grassy land and conifer forests. |

Roopkund
Trek:
Situated at an alt. of 5029 mts. this area is usually called Mystery
Lake, since human skeletons and remains from Paleolithic age were found
here. The starting point of trek is Tharali. |

Mussoorie-
Nag Tibba Trek:
At an alt. of 3048 mts. This trek offers some very beautiful views of
rich in flora
and fauna.
The place is not much inhabited and only few villages are inhabited
en-route, and even those are
abandoned during winters. This make is virtually untouched with human
interventions.

Munsyari-Milam
Trek:
The Milam glacier at an alt. of 3872 mts. is base point for many routes
and peaks. Munsyari at an alt. of 2290 mts. is arterial water body of
Goriganga which emerges from Milam Glacier. |

RAFTING:
The Ganges from Deoprayag to Rishikesh (appx 70
kms.) is perfect stretch for amateur, professional and novice as the
rapids are up to V grade. Kaudiyala, Shivpuri and Brahmpuri are well
known places for
rafters. There are sandy beaches along the Ganges to halt for
refreshment.
Muri to Tuni on Ton river is another place for rafters in Uttaranchal. |

WATER
SPORTS IN STILL WATER:
Assan Barrage (43 kms. from Dehradun) is being developed as center of
water sports, sailing, boating and bird watching.
Lakes Paradise: Naini lake at Nainital, Bhimtal, and Nakuchiatal are
excellent places for yachts, pedal boats and traditional rowing boars. |

SKIING AT AULI:
16 kms.
by road or 20 minutes by cable car, Auli is regarded as
Switzerland of India. It gives an excellent view of Nanda Devi (7817
mts.), Kamet (7756 mts.), Dunagiri (7066 mts.), Mana Parvat (7273 mts.)
peaks.
There are skiing courses for the beginners as well as professionals.
Every year in month of Feb, national skiing competitions are held here.
