Comment: What A Moving Tribute!

Dear Ms. Nau,

I first ran across your website a few months ago while doing some research of my own into the death of my cousin during the Vietnam War. Tonight I took another look at your site. God bless you for your strength and courage. It is shameful that your father and the other brave persons on his flight are not honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.

I have long been interested in military/intelligence history and recall reading some time ago a brief story on the Flying Tiger disappearance on the internet - including a possible theory involving foreign intelligence operatives on Guam before the planes departure. I have tried repeatedly to find that website tonight with no luck. I am sure you have heard all of the theories.

My cousins death in a "friendly fire" incident in 1968 was extremely hard on our family (I was only three years old at the time, but remember the funeral clearly) and broke my aunt's heart. I am now starting the long process of investigating my cousins death and have no idea of what I will find. Whatever the truth is, I believe it should be revealed. Only then can we have the closure that has been missing in our family for the past 34 years.

I encourage you to keep up your own search for the truth about your fathers flight and to continue the fight for him and the other 106 to receive the recognition they so richly deserve. The fortieth anniversary of your fathers flight is only two months away. Please use this anniversary as a source of strength to press on and continue the fight. Take care.

Welcome, Crystal! I'm happy that you were able to find this site to see the MIA Red Star next to your Uncle "Corky's" name. As you can see, I was unable to read everything that you had written, due to the limitations that Geocities has placed on their Guestbook signing format. Please visit often.

Comment:My brother, Larry Canon, explained to our parents that the group could 'set down anywhere and set up an HQ.' If the MOS and previous duty stations of each flight members were known, the kind of HQ he spoke of could be established. This knowledge would indicate the kind of organization to petition for information on the March '62 personnel.
Tempest, Thank you for signing the Guestbook! From what Larry's children have disclosed, their father posessed very valuable communications skills and knowledge in addition to Top Security Clearance. I had met his family in 1991, and they were very spiritual, honest and gracious people. Larry would be very proud of his family's accomplishments and their endurance over time. Every "organization" has been contacted.

Comment: I always think about this plane crash.I believe some members of the graduating class the week before me were on the plane-I know they were headed for Vietnam. Not sure if they were on that plane but the timing would have been right. I wish there were more
Andy, Thank you for signing the Guestbook. Please take note that if you have more than 250 characters, including spaces, it's a better idea to email me directly -- there is no limit that way and I will be able to read all of what you have to say. Also, if you visit the "Crew" and "Passengers" pages, you will be able to verify if anyone aboard N6921C was of the class that had graduated a week before you.
