| Phoebe Halliwell and Cole Turner first met when Phoebe and Prue were vanquishing a demon and Cole, was the ADA on the case! After a few times of bumping into each other, they start to date. Phoebe finally has a boyfriend! However, it is soon clear that it is not as plain and simple as it seems. Cole is a demon called Belthazor, an upper level, extremely powerful demon sent by the Triad to kill the Charmed Ones. However, Cole's plan to get to the Charmed Ones by making Phoebe fall in love with him backfired. He realised he had fallen in love with Phoebe and could not bring himself to kill her or either of her sisters. After a while the sisters discovered that Cole is Belthazor and tried to vanquish him. Cole had to speak to Phoebe to make her understand that it was not all fake, that he had really fallen in love with her. So, he took her away, alone with him and explained everything. Phoebe found herself in an awkward position, killing the love of her life, or keeping him alive and lying to her sisters. Phoebe does not kill him. She tries to go on with her life without him and does not tell her sisters. When her sisters finally discover, they are furious, Prue is outraged that Phoebe could be so irresponsible. When Cole returns saying that he could not live without Phoebe, it adds to the sisters' anger. But, Phoebe loves him, and Prue and Piper can tell it is true love, so they have no choice but to trust their sister's judgment and accept that he is not longer evil. It sounds as though the story should end there, that this should be the happy ending, but many obstacles still remain and these would hae trajic consequences on this forbidden love. Firstly, Cole had had to kill the Triad (the Three most powerful evil beings after the Source of all evil) so they would not send someone to kill Phoebe. This made him many enemies and now, the whole of the underworld was on the lookout for him. The Source sends out many demons/warlocks to try to kill him. In order to not endanger the Charmed Ones, Cole returns to the Underworld. Unfortunately, a demon makes him evil a second time by tempting him with his father's soul. However, Phoebe saves the day and saves him. So Season 3 ends with their romance at a great high-point, but what is to come will dramaticly change their destinies... Season 4 starts with Phoebe's newly-discovered sister Paige Matthews, replacing the late Prue in the Charmed Ones...Phoebe and Cole are more in love than ever before when Cole surprises her with a wedding proposal. Phoebe puts it off for a while and says she is not ready but then she realises that she has to grow up and learn comittment. Besides, he is the love of her life, why shouldn't she marry him? So, she says yes. Meanwhile, after 3 years of fighting evil, the Charmed Ones finally battle the Source face to face. When the Source realises that they might actually beat him, he invokes a powerful force of evil called the hollow. That is when the Seer (the Source's fortune-teller) comes into contact with Cole and tells him to catch and imprison the Hollow. Cole does not see why not and imprisons the Hollow. The Charmed Ones then vanquish the Source. Cole inherits the Source's powers. Gradually the Source takes control of him and his evil side begins to win over his good side. Cole has become the Source. He must now hide his secret from the girls while getting Phoebe to marry him, in the hopes of her becoming evil. Phoebe and Cole are then finally married, however, what Phoebe does not know is that this was not any marriage, but a demonic wedding hosted by a evil priest. When Cole impregnates her to make an evil heir, she finds out and is devistated. However, the Seer talks her round and tells her that the only way to keep her baby and huband is to turn to the other side. It comes to the point where Phoebe has to choose between Cole and her sisters. She decides she cannot just watch innocents being killed and the Charmed Ones vanquish Cole. This however, does not stop Cole. It may have ridden him of the Source but his love for Phoebe kept him alive and for a while he stayed in a demonic wasteland accumulating powers of vanquished demons and becoming stronger and stronger all the time. He sends signs to Phoebe teling her to come to him but she is tired of this relationship and just wants him to let go. Having been ignored by Phoebe, he finds a way to escape the wasteland by himself using his newly acquired powers. Phoebe still isn't with Cole and she files for a divorce to put this dark past behind her. Cole manages to stop the divorce but cannot get Phoebe back despite many attempts. He tries to make her change to the dark side again but none of that works, she is too strong now. Finally, in the 100th episode, the Charmed Ones vanquish Cole once and for all. That is the trajic end to this dramatic relationship which embodies passion, anger, desire, despair but above all, love. A love between two star-crossed lovers, a proven impossibe love despite many attempts, between a demon and a good witch. |

Because - because I gotta kill you, that's why. Smooth... -Power Outage Cole: Loving her is the best thing that's ever happened to me. You can destroy me, but you can't change that. -Exit Strategy (Cole's proposal) Phoebe: We have to stop meeting like this! Cole: Marry me Phoebe: What? ... Cole: Phoebe, listen to me. I know I was crazy to ask, and I know it doesn't make any sense because of who we are, but that shouldn't matter. If it did we never would have fallen in love in the first place. I love you Phoebe, and I don't know where we go from here, but I know wherever it is, I want it to be with you. ... Phoebe: It's just hard. Cole: It's just me. -Black As Cole (Cole explains himself qfter Phoebe finds him in possession of a gun) Cole: It's just - I need action Phoebe: I kinda thought we were doin' O.K. in that department. Cole: Not that kind of action Phoebe. I went from all-powerful demon to mere mortal overnight. Phoebe: You are not mere baby, you are anything but mere. Cole: Next to the Charmed Ones I'm a potted plant. -A Paige From the Past (Cole explains to Phoebe that he really loves her and that he does not want to kill her) Cole: All I had to do was finish the job.
