| Today at lunch during school I came to a realization. We do not get enough milk in school lunches. This is a problem. I have way too much burger to milk ratio. I cannot wash down a comfortable number of bites of my burger with my allotted milk amount. High school students simply dont get enough milk at lunch. We get the same amount of milk that our eight-year-old brothers and sisters in second grade get. Some high schoolers are sometimes four times larger than the average 2nd grader. We are bigger and our bodies NEED more milk. We need more nutrition and more calcium than our elementary school counterparts. Its a disgrace that at school I only get one cup (or one half pint as the carton reads) of milk. At a normal meal at home I drink around four through six cups of milk for lunch. They just dont get it. |
