The Following is a journal entry I wrote for my English class.  It applies to more than just the book we were reading.

Minding other peoples business is rude.  Everyone should be entitled to a certain amount of privacy.  But does that mean that we should ignore signs that point to evils in society?  It is of course, rude to walk into the apartment next to yours and take a peek into the medicine cabinet.  But it is not good to ignore the painful sounding screams coming from down the hall.

We, as people, have a responsibility to do what we can to stop inhumane acts.  Because it would be invasion of privacy to be minding others business all the time, we must discriminate between when are okay times to mind others business and when are inappropriate times.

Before one invades anothers privacy, one must have a justifiable reason to do so.  Cries of distress and such are obvious reason to investigate.  What if you are suspicious that a friend of yours is taking harmful drugs?  Do you have the responsibility to help save him from himself?  How much is our responsibility?  How much evidence or clues do you need before you are justified to invade others privacy?  It is these infinite shades of grey that bring confusion and unjustness into society.  Everyones morals are different.

Everyone must decide for himself/herself what his/her morals are.  Everyone must do his/her best to discriminate between times that need your intervention and times that dont.
