The Girl Next Door
What I do for Fun

I spend most of my free time preparing for pageants. I have participated in five to date. My ultimate dream is to become Miss America. Pageants are great because you meet several people, learn life skills, and gain confidence. Everyone is a winner because you will never leave empty handed. You will leave pageant weekend with great confidence and self-esteem.

My Main Competitions

  • Formal Wear
  • Interview
  • Introduction
  • Spokesmodel
  • Talent
  • Sportswear

  • I like to dance. Who doesn't? When I was younger, I was a cheerleader. We would learn a dance and perform it in a competition. This is where I picked up dancing. Here I am before my Talent competition. Can you tell I am nervous? I performed a self-choreographed dance to the song James Dean (I Wanna Know) by Daniel B. I was very proud of myself. I received a high score and barely missed the Talent Top Five. Talent is a hard competition. This world is full of singers, actors, and models.

Welcome to the wide world of modeling. The Sportwear competiton is fun because the contestants pick an outfit of choice to show off their own personality. I love this dress, very Spring like. This competition is fun but frustrating because there is not a certain criteria the judges are going by. If they like you, good for you. I actually caught the judges attention. In total shock, I reviewed the Top Five lists and found my name not only under Spokesmodel but Sportswear. In the final night, the Top Five contestants recompeted. I won 2nd runner-up! Yeh, I'm happy!

I do not have a Spokesmodel competition picture to show you, but the pink interview outfit on the home page of this site shows my suit a bit. I received 4th runner-up this year and 1st runner-up the previous year. I call that year the year that trophy should have been mine. HaHa. It was disappointing to not win Spokesmodel this year because of how close I was the year before, but I still did great.

    Heather Whitestone
My most admired American woman is Miss America 1995 Heather Whitestone. She was the first woman with a disability to win the Miss America pageant. She was profoundly deaf. She has inspired me to strive for my goals and I will never forget her kind smile. Thanks for making little girls around the world dream!
