NAEA Student Chapter Timeline

1977: Student Chapter is initiated with a President, Secretary, 2 Vice Presidents and included 13 local Student Chapters.
 

1978: Local Student Chapter membership soars to 125.

 
1982: Position of Secretary is dissolved.
 

1983: Local Student Chapter membership reaches 159.*

* (Last recorded membership until 2000)

 

1987: Vice President positions dissolved.

President and President-Elect become responsible for conference program and NAEA News column.

 

1997: Advisor position established.

 

1999: Officers work to establish an effective communication system linking national and local Student Chapters.

 

2000: Budget and funds allotted from NAEA.
First attendance at Summer Board Meeting.
Officers focus on budget and yearbook.
Local Student Chapter membership recorded at 57.

 

2001: First Student Chapter website established.

Officers develop the Strategic Plan and President's Handbook.

 

2002: Officers develop RAEA mentorship program.

 
2004: New Student Chapter website established.
 

2006: Student Outreach Coordinator position established

Student Chapter initiates process to become Student Division.
