Linda
grew up on a farm in southern Nebraska and graduated from Franklin
High School. Her BA in Art Education is from Kearney State College
(now University of Nebraska at Kearney), MA from Fort Hays State
University, Kansas, and Ed.D. from Illinois State University.
She taught high school art for 20 years in Kansas and North Dakota
and currently is the Area Coordinator and teaches in the Art Education
program at Illinois State University (ISU). She teaches methods
classes and supervises student teachers. Linda is the Advisor
for the ISU Student Chapter which was named the Outstanding NAEA
Student Chapter for 2002 and 2003. Her honors include North Dakota
Art Teacher of the Year, Illinois Art Educator of the Year, ISU
Outstanding Registered Student Organization Advisor of the Year,
and ISU College of Fine Arts Service Award. She served as Regional
Director and Submissions Editor for the Illinois Art Education
Association and currently is the student liaison for IAEA. She
has given numerous presentations at state and national education
and art education conferences. Linda is a practicing ceramic artist,
creating organic functional and non-functional slab forms. Her
travels include Hawaii, Puerto Rico, England, France, Thailand,
Korea, and most recently, Italy.
This
site is maintained by the NAEA Student Chapter. Its aim is to further
our mission by providing information and resources to NAEA student and
early career members as well as other art education students across the
globe.
