As part of MIT's Global Entrepreneurship class, I traveled with four fellow MBA students to Uruguay to work at a company called Scanntech. Before I got there, I spent a week in the resort town of Punta Del Este, living a life that was completely outside my usual reality. After that, I spent three weeks slaving away at the startup POS software company and during the weekends was able to sneak in some beach time. I must say that out of all the countries in South America, I never expected Uruguay to be the one that I know best!

After a week of Punta life, we reset our clocks and got to work. Although the pictures are few, the hours were many...

After our first week of work, Miguel and I felt that we owed it to Alberto to take him to see Punta. So that weekend, back to Punta we went. We also invited two girls from Montevideo that Miguel met last year in Peru on the Inca trail.

Breaking the Punta norm, we had a light night on Friday and headed straight to the beach on Saturday. The picture below is Bikini Beach at 1:00pm.

Three hours later, the scene changed a little bit...

Miguel can sometimes be quite shy, but he most certainly keeps his eyes open to opportunities...

Alberto also had his eyes on things...

That night we had a meal at the house of the owner of the Lolita clothing company. The picture below is the team with Raul (the CEO of Scanntech).
