As part of MIT's Global Entrepreneurship class, I traveled with four fellow MBA students to Uruguay to work at a company called Scanntech.
Before I got there, I spent a week in the resort town of Punta Del Este, living a life that was completely outside my usual reality. After that, I spent three weeks slaving away
at the startup POS software company and during the weekends was able to sneak in some beach time. I must say that out of all the countries in South America, I never expected Uruguay
to be the one that I know best!

This was the house that I stayed at during my week-long break from reality in Punta Del Este. Since it was occupied by a collection of 9 guys who had never met before, but all came together to live it up for a week, we dubbed it the "frat house."

Of course, what's the point of having a phat house if you don't throw a phat party? Apparently, that's what we did.

Miguel (left) and Mauricio (right) were there breaking hearts all over the place. Mauricio was our link between Sloan and Uruguay, being a member of both tribes.

Our boys from Florida and New York. Two extremely entertaining friends that were part of our local frat.

Who are these people? Who is that guy with the funky goggles and why is it light out? These are questions that did not even occur to me at 6:00am on New Year's day. I'm still trying to put the pieces together on that evening...

Our local guide, Mauricio, invited us for a trip in his little tub on the water. The snow in Boston suddenly seemed a distant memory.
