Greetings to one and all. .

The Mystic Tavern is a unique character play chat room (not a role play room) first started in Lycos by a man named Dragon Lord a few years ago. Back around April /99, the Tavern was given to Lady Gwendolyn by Dragon Lord. The word VINTAGE was added to avoid confusion with the rise in roleplay rooms adopting the name Mystic Tavern.

In actual fact it does not matter who owns it because no one ever really can. What matters is that it be kept a place where everyone can enjoy their time on line.

It is a place where people can gather and share tears, smiles, poetry, ideas, and at the off time to vent anger. Many of us became good friends and we've even had a couple of marriages and our fair share of separations and heart break. Beings from all the realms, as well as those choosing not to be characters, have always been made welcome. The Tavern is magical and has a charm not found many others places. I have always been proud to be associated with the Tavern and especially the people.

Due to some problems at the old Lycos site, the tavern was opened at www.att.net

Squire John Black has been good enough to have opened the Mystic Tavern Vintage there and is custodian of the tavern at that site, with the gracious assistance of Bloodtear.

I have opened Mystic Tavern Vintage as a public club site at Lycos communties and all are invited to join.

Please contact me if you know of any other Mystic Tavern locations so that I can post the information here. Or if you are planning reunions or any other type of gatherings let me know and I will make sure I make special note of it on this page.

Dragon Lord originally established some guidelines. Since times have changed, We feel it is necessary to update the current guidelines for better understanding and clarity. There has always been an argument about Role-Play in the Tavern. Role Play within the Tavern is to enhance the conversations and is more a kind of character play rather than roleplay. The Tavern does NOT follow Lycosian Rules of Role Play or any other stringent rules of order.

All have always been made welcome in the Mystic Tavern. In as such, this tradition should be continued. Another tradition has been to share poetry and get feedback and support for the work, this as well shall be continued. We now welcome you to join us in the Tavern if you so wish, and bid you Blessed Be if you should depart.
