Ujaset's Tail

A quick search of the cave revealed very little of value. After a brief  discussion they decided that the mission wouldn't be complete until they followed a trail (along which, it seemed, Ujaset's body was dragged) and addressed whatever happened to be at the other end.

With Ariana leading the way, they tracked the kobolds back to their camp. From cover they counted 15 kobold milling around several tents and a central bonfire with what looked like the remains of Ujaset roasting on a spit. Not wanting to waste time, they immediately began their assault with a Sound spell from Whiff and very impressive Pyrotechnics cast on the fire from Conor. In the confusion, the ranged fighters among them unloaded on the kobolds and were doing quite well as they moved toward the center of the camp ... that was until a sorcerer popped out of a tent and somehow managed to cast a Web spell without having any trees around on which to bind it. Ariana and Kaldes were caught somehow in the web but Mar quickly cast his own Entangle spell to wrap up most of the kobold and the sorcerer.

They attacked the remaining kobolds and after a long drawn out battle finally killed them all. Monjhi certainly had a good day with four kills ... apparently the raw meat and vegetables are working! Unfortunately, in the melee the sorcerer disappeared ... literally.

They quickly searched the camp and found a number of useful items ... and the tracks of the escaping sorcerer. Knowing that they'd need to get him before they could satisfy their obligation to Ujaset, they mounted up and gave chase.

They rode for what seemed like hours. The sun had long since set and the moon was playing hide-and-seek behind some clouds. Luckily Ariana's Elven vision kept an eye on the trail. Their horses ran full out, trying to catch up with the mage.

All of a sudden, Conor got really, really cold and his horse suddenly stopped moving. He went down hard, but recovered stylishly. After making sure that his garments were unsoiled and rightly placed, he turned around and saw three more horses down and frozen solid, and sadly, so was Mar.
