Kholum the Swift

Eleint 3

From the journal of Conor Llyldferg:

Well, the night passed without incident (thank the gods), and after a brief repast and our morning ablutions, we set out to the lake with our C.. A..N..O..E (in case Mar reads this ... heh)

Kaldes made two trips to get all of us onto the island. We walked all around the structure and discovered that it was basically a single "room" with a large opening on each side of the building. Each door had a different word written above it:  "Treachery", "Greed", "Pride" and "Hate".

We made a thorough check for traps around and just inside the doors and even on the roof and found ... nothing. So we carefully entered the structure through the "Greed" door (Portia's choice I think) and ... nothing happened.

The room was well lit from an array of openings in the roof, and the floors were dusty ... There were no identifiable foot prints, but many scratches and scrapes (from claws perhaps?) in front of each door. The center of the floor was dominated by two large, human shaped statues standing back-to-back on a head-high raised platform. One of the statues was missing an eye.

On the other side of the raised platform we soon discovered a plaque with some writing on it:

KHOLUM THE SWIFT
Lord of the Night

Of the best I was,
but you must put
aside the old ways and
see that everything
here has a place.
