Click for Myerstown, Pennsylvania Forecast

Just as the greeting on the watertower says.... WELCOME TO MYERSTOWN. Located in the Lebanon Valley between the Blue Mountains to the north and the South Mountains to the south, it is a community of much heritage and historical value.
In the heart of Lebanon County, which was once part of both Dauphin and Lancaster Counties, it is about 7 miles east from the capital seat of the county, Lebanon, PA, 30 miles west of Reading, PA, 30 miles north of Lancaster, PA and 30 miles east of the capital of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, PA.

In this quaint and rural community, you can see sites from the 18th to the 21st century. As you travel on it's streets, country roads and through surrounding areas, the traditions of Pennsylvania Dutch heritage are vividly illustrated by the people; their homes and the industrious way of life.

Even though, many ethnic and cultural backgrounds comprise this friendly, hard working community, the "German" culture is predominant. This is seen by the Mennonites and Amish in the area. Often referred to as "The Plain People", their significant influence plays a very vital part to this colorful area.

Two distinctive features, the people that are native to the area have, are the accent they possess and their colloquial "slanguage". Click Here to see.

On a typical day the "clipping" of hoofs and the "rumbling" of wooden wheels harmonize with the "purr" of the automobile engines as they go down Main Street, just as the townspeople coincide with each other.
