I was reared in a Christian home, where we had family devotions every morning and every evening.  Not only did we have God's Word read to us, we all knelt and said prayers to the Lord.  Sometimes we sang songs, and sometimes we testified.  I do not ever remember a time when we did not have "Family Altar".   I have the memory, also, of my mother kneeling beside her bed praying for hours at a time, interceding for the missionaries, for the church, for the pastors, evangelists, and last but not least, for unsaved family members.  What a heritage.  We also attended church services at least three times a week.

The church we belonged to, when I was a child, always knelt in prayer.  We had a wonderful time singing the old gospel hymns, and listening to a "fired up" minister.  I learned much from my Sunday School teacher, too.  All the books of the Bible, lots of memory verses, and most important of all, "The Way of Salvation".

I went on to be a missionary to the Native Americans for a short while, and my older brother, Donald, was a pastor before he was tragically killed in a hit and run accident.

Some of my favorite verses in the Bible have so inspired and encouraged me through the years.  I wish to share a few with you.  And if, perchance, you have never given your heart to Jesus, why don't you do it now?

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in Him might not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved".  John 3:16-17

"I am the Light of the world; he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of Life" John 8:12

"Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is in me, bless His Holy Name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all of His benefits; who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases, who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and with tender mercies; who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's"  Ps. 103:1-5

My Prayer For You

"Dear Father in Heaven, Creator of Heaven and Earth, I thank you for your son Jesus.  I come to you in Jesus' name, asking your blessings on all who read this."

"Father, You are so loving, so merciful and so forgiving.  I pray that You would forgive all our iniquities, and heal all our diseases and illness, and cause Your Face to shine upon Us.  In the Wonderful Name of our Saviour, Jesus, I ask You for these things.  Amen"

If you have been blessed, or if you need help, e-mail me.  Find a group of people of like faith to associate with.  Read God's Word, the Bible, and pray every day.  I love you all.   Marilyn

Here are some of the names of my favorite old Hymns.
Do you remember singing any of them?

HIGHER GROUND
ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS NAME
THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD
THERE IS A FOUNTAIN FILLED WITH BLOOD
WE"LL UNDERSTAND IT BETTER BY AND BY
A CHILD OF THE KING
UNDER HIS WINGS
BEULAH LAND
VICTORY IN JESUS
COME AND DINE

And the song you are listening to,
JESUS PAID IT ALL
