Jupiter's Transits This planets transit is usually quite pleasant and supports the individuals growth, in the area of the houses energy, as it travels through the zodiac. In the first house, it facilitates your learning who you are, as an individual, providing you with the security and self-confidence to look more closely at yourself than at other times. In the second house Jupiter focuses your attention on your material values, and what you need materially to reach your life goals. In the third house, Jupiter expands your perception of the world and your relationship to your immediate family and the larger world outside your family. Communications will become easier during the house transit, and any desire to express yourself and your ideas to others in some way will be manifested. In awaking to the larger world outside your previous experience you will have opportunities to rethink perceptions and prejudices that you have of others, and become more tolerant of your differences. Jupiter transiting the fourth house turns you inward once more seeking inner peace and security in your life. The focus here is your domestic life, your home, and family. This will be a time of drawing together as a family and supporting each other. Any problems that are present involving the family can more easily be worked out during this transit. Jupiter transiting the fifth house helps to expand your self-expression. You will be more self-secured than at most other times. Relationships prosper greatly under this transit, because you can give of yourself to others without fear or misgivings. Your creativity is also expanded, allowing you greater freedom to share what you have to offer. Jupiter transiting the sixth house brings you a sense of joy in your responsibilities and lifes work. You will realize great joy in performing your everyday job in the best manner possible. Your health will be excellent, and you will enjoy physical strength and vitality. Jupiter transiting your seventh house allows you to see aspects of yourself that you may not be aware of through one-on-one encounters with others. You realize that you need others help and during this transit they are willing to provide it. Your encounters under this transit will be with individuals who are not part of your peer-group, or come from a different background than you. Jupiter in the eighth house brings you benefits from others resources. During this transit, you will have the opportunity to experience new spiritual awareness and understanding of the psychological patterns that effect your life. In the ninth house transit, your life view can expand tremendously. You will experience a great thirst to learn and teach others. Your focus will be on real and useful knowledge that you can apply to your life. During this transit you will come to realize that your old beliefs and prejudices are outdated and no longer offer you a useful base for functioning in the world. Jupiter transiting the tenth house turns your attention towards your professional life and social status. You will feel the need to move forward in both areas of your life, and this transit makes that easier for you to do now. Public recognition that you deserve will now be forth-coming. Jupiter transiting your eleventh house brings your focus to group participation and a goals. During this house transit, you will find it more beneficial to work with others than trying go it on your own. You will tend toward the idealistic, wanting to help others in need. Long term improvements in your life will only happen as a result of your work for others. And finally, Jupiter transiting through your twelfth house will open your mind to the spiritual and religious aspects of your life. It will be a time where you will be more able to look at aspects of yourself that you consider less desirable. You not only have more compassion for others at this time, but for yourself as well. You will be ready at that time to meet a spiritual teacher, or you may play that role for someone else. Jupiter transits through all twelve houses in 11 to 12 years. At times it reverses its path (called going retrograde) and returns to the previous house, only to turn around again and move back into the original house. For example, Jupiter may pass from you 5th house into your 6th house, back into the 5th, and then back to the 6th again. The common understanding of the meaning of being in the same house twice in a short time is that on the original pass the houses energy work was started and completed on the second pass. Since Jupiter takes such a short time to complete one cycle of all your houses, it will cycle through the complete 12 houses many times during a life time. What that means in terms of growth is that we grow in an upward spiral, each cycle building upon the former cycles. The complete path takes us through; __childhood (birth to 11 or 12) __young adulthood (12/13 to 23/25) __adulthood (23/25 to 34/35) __middle age (34/35 to 45 to 46) __mature age (45/46 to 55 /57) __elderly 55/57 to 66/68 __old age 66/68 till death The lessons to be learned and self-knowledge to be gained as we move up along the path change to reflect our needs. As Jupiter transits our natal chart, it comes into aspects with natal planets. These aspects may make the energy of the house easier to use, or more difficult to apply. There are five aspects that I consider important in transits; 1. Conjunction 0 degrees 2. Sextile (opening and separating) +/- 60 degrees 3. Square (opening and separating) +/- 90 degrees 4. Trine (opening and separating) +/- 120 degrees 5. Opposition 180 degrees In aspect analysis, I only consider 3 degree Orbs of influence valid, 1 degree each side of the natal location. For example, if the natal Venus is 12 degrees Cancer, only when the transiting plant formed an aspect at 11, 12, or 13 degrees, would I consider it relevant. Opening and separating refer to the transiting planet approach to the natal planet and its leaving the natal planet respectively. Jupiter energies are primarily focused on growth and expansiveness. It has a strong social dimension, as well. A transit by Jupiter usually provides opportunities to grow in either a psychological or social context. The only down side of Jupiters transits is that they may cause you to overstep your capabilities. Under the effects of an aspect you may promise or take on more than you can deliver, feeling that you can do anything. Jupiters conjunction, trine and sextile aspects to natal planets tries to combine Jupiters energy with the natal planets energies. With some planets this is easy and the energies flow together aiding each other, while with other planets the energies are so dissimilar that even under a positive aspect, it is difficult for the two energies to work constructively together. Therefore, the effects of an aspect is determined by the kind of energies associated with each of the planets involved. Under the less positive aspects, Square and Opposition, the planets energies oppose each other. |
