Distilled essential oils are highly concentrated and potent.

  • DISTILLED OILS SHOULD NEVER BE USED ON THE SKIN; THEY MUST BE DILUTED FIRST.
     

  • WHEN USED ON CHILDREN, DISTILLED OILS MUST BE MORE DILUTE THAN FOR ADULTS.

 

CAUTION: The following are only PARTIAL lists. Always VERIFY the indications and contraindications of any distilled oil you intend to use.
 

  • SKIN IRRITATING OILS (WITH EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT):

bergamot, citrus

  • If you are PREGNANT, DO NOT USE:

aniseed, basil, bergamot, camphor, clary sage, clove, cedarwood, chamomile, cinnamon, cypress, fennel, hyssop, jasmine, marjoram, mellisa, myrrh, nutmeg, peppermint, rose, rosemary, sage, thyme, tarragon.

  • If you have EPILEPSY, DO NOT USE:

camphor, eucalyptus, fennel, hyssop, rosemary, sage.

  • If you have HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, DO NOT USE:

eucalyptus, peppermint, rosemary, spearmint.

  • If you have LOW BLOOD PRESSURE, DO NOT USE:

lavender
