sacramentals
Holy things or actions with which we ask for God to grant us favors, especially spiritual ones. Examples include: blessings, exorcisms, and blessed devotional objects like holy water, candles, scapulars, medals, rosaries, and pictures of saints. They assist us indirectly to achieve grace. Sacramentals differ from objects of superstition.

superstition, objects of
Behind such objects is the idea that they make things happen by a property innate to them, regardless of any other factors in play. A 'bad luck' item is said to bring ill fortune no matter what. Good fortune is said to be absolutely dependent on the possession of a 'good luck charm.' This perception is false. Additionally, grace is not achieved through material acquisition; no material object cancels an evil act.
temporal
In a theological sense -- worldly, of time and space. As opposed to the spiritual and eternal.

transcendent
(As applied to god) independent of or beyond the material universe, space and time.

will, willing
1) The faculty of conscious and of deliberate action. 2) Wish or desire. 3) Determination to carry out purpose. 4) Disposition towards someone or something. 5) The faculty of influence and effectivity.
