Note: Pick your herbs in the morning, when they are freshest.

Hang Drying

Note: This method requires a dry climate.

  1. Gently wash herbs in a bowl of water. Gently pat-dry thoroughly.
Note: You may prefer not to wash your herbs, as this will make them harder to dry and could lead to mould or bacterial growth.
  2. Bundle herbs loosely. Air must be able to circulate through the stems and leaves.
  3. Hang bundle to dry-out completely.
  4. When dry, check herbs carefully for any sign of mould growth. If mould is present, herbs must be thrown away.

Other Drying Methods

  • Place herbs on a cookie sheet and bake them at 180F or lower,
    for 3-4 hours.
  • Microwave herbs on high for 1-3 minutes on high, turning them over every 30 seconds.
  • Use a dehydrator.
