Remember the Old Days, when trade skills were used? People could make money through long hours of brewing and pottery, smithing was the way to earning a fortune, and Patchwork armour was a newbie's delight. I, for one, spent a good portion of my hard earned newbie cash learning the brewer's trade, and mastered it not long before a patch made fiery brews barely profitable. Fortunatly, I was not in it soley for the money, but the inability to earn a living through my brewing skills was certainly disappointing. Now, I did try my hand at smithing, though never gaining much skill in it. I had friends who worked long and hard to become master smiths, such as Thuro and Bombil, and finally their work paid off, and they were able to launch successful businesses smithing banded armour. These days, though, how often do you see banded armour being auctioned, not to mention the old newbie stadby, patchwork armour? Granted, many of the smiths from the Old Days have no use for banded, as they plunder the depths of dungeons for greater, more profitable loot, and much better armour. However, there's still a good many low level characters who, one would imagine, could benefit from banded. Are they all twinks, just relying on hand-me-downs from their high level characters and friends? Has the increased amount of high level players, selling off high level armour at cheaper prices due to the large supply lessened the value of a good banded-making smith? It's all an interesting case of the economic growth of the Rallos Zek server, I imagine. I wonder what the situation is like on the new severs.
