BIO

Ricardo Muņoz

I was born in Flint, Michigan, on June 8, 1977. I have one sister, Carmelita, who is one year and 20 days younger than me. I graduated from Flint Central High School in 1995.  In June, 2000, I graduated from GMI (Kettering University), where I majored in Finance and Accounting.

Currently, I work at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, and live in Mexicantown in Detroit, Michigan.  I really like where I live.  The people are nice, the culture is great, the history is long...man, you can't get that just anywhere.

I guess you could say I am quite interested in the Internet and websites and stuff like that.

In the fall of 1998, I studied abroad in Reutlingen, Germany. I have created a subdirectory for the pictures from my trip and other cool stuff, so definately check that out! If you have the opportunity to go abroad, Kettering U students (or anyone for that matter), I highly recommend it!

At GMI, one of my co-op jobs was with DaimlerChrysler in Stuttgart, Germany. I really liked my co-op, mainly because of the location and all the interesting people I met. It was also cool because I was able to travel back and forth from Germany to the United States a lot.  All in all, I lived in Europe for half a year!

Hey, who would have ever thought my Study Abroad term in Germany would lead to a job over there!! I have two professors to thank, Professor McCarthy and Strubler, who were looking out for me and recommended me for that job. I can't thank you two enough.

In the summer of 1999, I attended a summer program at Harvard University! Studying at Harvard University is definately one of my academic highlights.

The Harvard Business School, MBA program, picks about 70 students from across the United States the summer before they graduate from undergrad to study at the university to expose the students to life as a Harvard MBA student. The program is one of their biggest recruiting tools.

I liked it so much at Harvard I am considering going back to get my Masters in Business Administration (MBA), maybe even my Ph.D.  I owe this opportunity to my good friend, Daniel Molina, who gave me the information about this program. Thanks, Daniel.

Well, I'm not just a work and school junkie! When I take time out of my school / work schedule, I like to spend time with family and friends.

To keep myself feeling and performing well, staying in shape and leading a healthy lifestyle is a must for me. Hey, not too many things in this world are more important than one's health!

Some unique things about me ... I am left handed. I love art work. I believe stand-up comedians are truly a blessing from God!

I really dislike doing the dishes and being sick (but, then again, who does?!?).

I am quite fond of computer programming, a good workout, and really enjoy a good biography. Maybe I'll write my own someday.

I also hope (well, plan) to one day (not necessarily in this order) learn how to play the piano and the guitar, cook gourmet meals, do magic tricks, get married, run a triathlon, write my own music, have children, travel more, and a few other things so I can be a more well-rounded, "Student of Life".

I love sports, with tennis being my favorite. Track & field, tennis, basketball, and pretty much all sports I play or like to watch. I am a HUGE fan of Marion Jones, Michael Johnson, Stefan Edberg, Oscar de la Hoya, Pete Sampras, Michael Jordan, and my all-time favorite sports legend, Steve Prefontaine.

Music...I like a lot of different types. My music tastes include (but not limited to) Lenny Kravits, Nat King Cole, Brian Mc Knight, Mariah Carey, Beethoven, Outkast, Metallica, Prince, Projecto Uno, Nydia Rojas, Stanley Clarke, Xavier Naidoo, Garth Brooks and Aaliyah.

Reading this, some may say I'm eclectic, diverse, and even nerdy. I say, I'm just me, Ricardo.
