I was born in Hobart and lived there for about 12 years with my Mum, Dad and three sisters until my Mum, my twin sister (Maxine) and myself moved to the coast, settling in Ulverstone for a year then moving to Devonport where I still live today more than 30 years later. So I class myself as more a north west coaster than a southerner.
My sister and I spent our last year of High School at Devonport High then I went on to get a job at a local shoe shop for a few years before I started work at the paper mill at Wesley Vale, I worked there until 1992 then had my daughter in 1993.
I have finished studying (in July 2004) at TAFE, my Certificate II in Information Technology and in December 2005 I completed my Certificate IV in Web Design and Web Administration. In February 2006 I returned to studies & gained my Diploma in Project Management to help me with my Web Design Business.
I enjoy doing this web site (see links below), creating graphics and other web pages, enjoy the clubs/groups I am involved in, and chat with the many friends I have made since joining the internet over 6 years ago.
I wanted to do a site about Tasmania as I noticed since being online that not many people were familiar with this Australian state... And YES it is a state of Australia.
It takes it's name from Abel Tasman who first charted the island in 1642 and origionally named it Van Diemans Land.
Like many people who visit today he was struck by its beauty and tranquility and this is what makes Tasmania a popular tourist destination for people from all over the world.
I do hope you enjoy this site, learn a bit about Tasmania and get to know what a wonderful part of the world I live in.
