Horton PTSA is sponsoring the Food Lion and Lowes Grocery
Card Fundraising Program again this year. It is easy and doesn't cost you
any extra money to help the school. Since most of us shop at Lowes or Food Lion
each week already, this is an easy way for us to help generate funds for our
school with very little effort on our part!
How does it work: The stores sell us gift cards for face value and donate 5 or
6% of the sales back to the school PTA. Example: if you buy a Lowes card
totaling $100, you pay the PTA $100 and receive a gift card for $100 to spend at
any Lowes Food store. Lowes then gives the Horton PTA $6. Last year our school
profited approximately $1200 from March to June.
How to order: complete an order form to assist the PTA treasurer in the total
amount to be ordered from each store. If you are interested in having a standing
order (once or twice a month), you only need to fill out the form once. Indicate
which pickup date (or both) you will get your cards and the amounts you want
each time.
How to pick up your card: they will be distributed on the 1st and 3rd Tues. of
each month in the Media Center at Horton between 2:15 and 3:00 p.m. Note: if
enough interest, there will be a Saturday morning pickup the first Sat. of each
month in the schedule. Your check (made payable to HMS PTA) or cash will be
turned in to Mary Lou Torbert, Grocery Card Coordinator. There is no delay in
being able to use your card. Grocery Cards will be sold in the amounts of $25,
$50 and $100. There will be a $25 fee for all returned checks.
Pleae help support the Wildcats! If you have any questions about the program,
call or email Mary Lou Torbert at 542-6361 or [email protected].
Thank you for your continued support.
