Boccone's 17776 Blanco Rd. (492-2996) $5-$20. Worth the drive, lively atmosphere, great food. Italian bakery.
Capparelli's 5446 Evers (680-4810) and 8822 Huebner (690-6036) $5-10. Dining room is small and dimly lit. Good garlic bread and salad. Try the pizza. Good for moderate price.
Fratelli's 8085 Callaghan (349-7997) $5-10. Great pasta, nice date atmosphere. Diverse menu.
Giusseppie's Italian Restaurant 4003 Broadway (946-3070). $5-20. A class favorite. Very good food.
Lorenzo's Italian 8032 Fredericksburg (at Medical) (692-9900) $5-15. Specialty pizzas, sandwiches (meatball, etc.), pasta, chicken, etc.
Macaroni Grill (Romano's) 24116 I-10 W (Take Leon Springs exit) (698-0003) $7-17 This is the original Macaroni Grill. Upscale Italian food, outstanding service. Be there before 6pm or one-hour waits are common. They do allow call ahead reservations.
Massimo's Italian Ristorante 4263 NW Loop 410 (at Babcock) (342-8556) $16-22. Owned and operated by an Italian chef. Food is multo buono! Excellent gnocci, risotto, pasta, and tiramisu. Reservations welcome.
Naples Italian 4003 Broadway (822-7611) $8-25. Good food.
Napoli's **Delivery** 4063 Medical (615-1116) under $10. Hole in the wall with great, fresh food. Lunch specials.
Olive Garden 6155 NW Loop 410 (520-7935) $7-12. Known for great salad and breadsticks. Paesano's 555 E. Basse (828-5191) $10-20. Good food with nice atmosphere. Veal and shrimp are the best. Tends to get crowded on the weekend.
Razmiko's 8055 West Ave at Lockhill-Selma (366-0416) $10-20+. Great place to impress date. Good atmosphere, very good food.
Zingaro's 459 McCarthy (344-3102) $10-20. Good variety, from homemade stuffed pasta to veal, sandwiches. Good soups & desserts.
Zio's Italian Kitchen 12858 W IH10 (697-7222) $7-15. Great for families. Tables are covered with paper & crayons. Kid's & dessert menus available only on our favorite childhood toys--ViewMaster's. Good variety.

Japanese

Fujiya Japanese Garden 9030 Wurzbach (615-7553) $10-20+. Good traditional Japanese cuisine. Tatami dining room available.
Shogun 5500 Babcock (696-8638) $8.28. Recommended for good Japanese cuisine. Tokyo Steak House 9405 San Pedro (341-4461) $20+ Each table gets its own show, Ginza style, with the chef cutting and cooking in front of you. This is a great place for small group gatherings. (Four-six people).
Sushi Zushi 9867 W IH-10 (691-3332). $7-12. Newly opened with nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced sushi and other menu items available. Japanese owned and operated.
