Current Events Reports are due after every weekend!
This will prepare every student with material to answer the required current
events essay on the final exam.
THE REPORT:
- Each report should be a recent news story that deals that specifically
deals with a country OTHER than the United States. News Stories solely
reporting news from within the US will not be accepted. However, news
relating to the US and its relations with a foreign nation is acceptable.
- The report should be one page in length and should answer the following
questions: Who, what, where, when, why, and how.
- The News story should come from any major newspaper or news
magazine. The article MUST be cut out and stapled to the written
report.
- The article MUST be a major article. NO NEWS BRIEFS of minor story is
acceptable.
- TV News is acceptable IF the student identifies the name of the news
program and air date, time and channel.
- If possible, the every student should attempt to follow one or two news
stories throughout the year. This will give the student a deeper
insight into one or two stories rather than a shallow understanding of many
stories. THIS WILL AID THE STUDENT IN WRITING THE REQUIRED CURRENT
EVENTS ESSAY ON THE FINAL EXAM!
