Man, these things just keep COMING! I got some more lighting pics today, with a few good ones. I missed this awesome 2-bolt strike with a third one immediately after, but at least I saw it.

I added Lightning Collection 3, which highlights seven lightning bolts. The first picture is my best lightning capture so far. I also added two more pictures to the Random Pics page.

I'm also going to make movie reviews of The Punisher, which I have watched (again), and The Boondock Saints, which I will watch tomorrow (again).

Sorry about the rant, but I keep getting sidetracked by other things. I'll try to force myself to get it done tomorrow. I'm going to the Community Band Concert at 7pm up at the high school auditorium (right outside it if the weather is good), so I'll take pics of that I guess.

My review for The Benchwarmers is now up for everyone to read and enjoy. The simple, yet effective humor in this movie gives it the edge it needs to be a great movie. With a nice combination of A-list actors, this film will let you laugh without having to think much during the movie. While short by today's standards, it is filled with plenty of character development and plot to keep you from letting out the yawn of boredom.

I also began work on Rant #5 - New-Age Horror Movies. In it, I give light on how crappy most horror movies are nowadays unless they are filled with plenty of gore to disgust the audience. Have we just become THAT immune to horror, or is it just bad writing on Hollywood's side? You will soon find out!

I added two new picture collections. Lightning Collection 2 features another pack of lightning I captured on film then took screen shots from the footage (the last pic on that page is from a storm that was two days after the other pics.

Secondly, I added a Random Pics page that I will update whenever I take pictures that I think look good and/or cool, so I will just keep updating that one until it gets too big (maybe every 30 pictures I will create a new one).

I have Benchwarmers to watch tonight, so look for a movie review to come up.

Beware the popularity of this movie: It's a snooze-fest with a couple of explosions to keep you awake (so just turn it down). Other than that it's just a bunch of people running around with their heads cut off.

My first "official" movie review is now up. I saw PotC 2 on its opening night at the drive-in at Auburn. It was fun because I was with about two-dozen other people, but if you're by yourself, make sure to have something handy when you hit the boring parts.

I now have a myspace because when all is said and done, it's the most logical choice for me. It's easy-to-use forms and comments and other junk is what drew me to it.

So now I will only use this page for updates to this page... no more blogging from here. I decided to add movie reviews to this page to keep traffic flowing, so look out for those in the future.

It's transition time for me this summer, so I've been keeping busy with a few things. I started my 7am-noon (Monday through Friday) job on Wednesday, so no more late weeknights ::sigh:: Late nights were fun, but I think I like earning good money better.

Oh man, the most amazing thing happened last Sunday. So there I am with my Dad getting the grill cleaned, with a thunderstorm a few miles north of us. We were just getting the last of it done when I decided it was time to go inside to get a better glimpse of the storm from upstairs. Just before I turned around, BAM! This magnificent lightning bolt struck in the woods 100 feet from me! The best part was that I got to see it. That probably won't happen again as long as I live (hopefully, for my safety), and it was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life... and the adrenaline rush was immense!

Friday evening I will be heading to the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (the 2nd one) and Cars. Oddly enough, when filming Pirates 2, they filmed the sequel, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which will hopefully be out by it's current release date of May 25, 2007. It's nice to know that there will be more, because I loved the first Pirates, and I cannot wait to see these next two.

Off to bed for me because I can't stay up until 4:00am weeknights anymore :(

New rants coming soon because I haven't been in the ranting mood much since I got out of college (because I talk about more interesting things there). Once I get back, I'll probably be having a lot of debates with my roommate (who loves that kind of stuff), so expect more frequent rants come September.
